Restorative Dentistry FAQs

A dental filling is used to repair a tooth that has been damaged by decay, cracks, or minor fractures. It restores the tooth’s shape and function while preventing further damage.

We commonly use composite (tooth-colored) fillings and GIC, depending on the location and condition of the tooth.

Not at all. We use local anesthesia if needed and ensure the procedure is quick and comfortable.

Composite fillings can last 5–10 years or longer with proper care. Longevity also depends on your oral hygiene and the location of the filling.

If a composite filling is used, you can usually eat right away. For GIC or if anesthesia was used, we recommend waiting a couple of hours.

It can worsen, leading to infection, pain, or even the need for a root canal or extraction. Early treatment is key.
